you should beginning taking it a couple days before your period starts, if you could predict it. i have really bad cramps and if i wait til they beginning before medicating, its usually too late.

you should ask a doctor before trying anything new, though

    Katherine,

I suffer from severe incessant pelvic pain and also incredibly painful period pain. So I comprehend your pain, I truly do.

If you're not getting any respite from over the counter stuff, you should really observe a doctor. They can even give you something to aid you with the cramps so you don't have to suffer like this.

Aleve is really great. It contains Naproxen which is an anti-inflammatory. That relieves the ovary soreness that is caused when you have your period. Some of the tricks I use is to take Midol or Aleve and I use a heating pad. It is so important. it really does aid take some of the edge off. I really hope these things aid you. If you're experiencing bad ample pain that you think about going the Emergency Room, then you really need to observe a gynecologist right away. They can aid give you much better respite so you don't have to suffer unnecessarily. I do hope that you find some respite and that the Aleve or Midol helps you. Don't forget a heating pad. Also, if you have your terrible cramps but have to go somewhere, you could buy those "thermacare heat patches" that you could wear beneath your clothes. It stays warm/hot for 8+hours and can aid you cope with the cramping and pain. I fervently hope you feel better soon.
