You can obtain pork insulin which comes from pigs but how do they extract human insulin? Does it come from dead people or do people donate it or what?

Recombinant DNA. They inject the DNA responsible for engineering the insulin in bacteria and let it multiply with it and produce the insulin. Clever, isn't it? Hope not offputting.
