I sprained my ankle about 2 days ago and my doctor recommended a wrap for it. I was wondering, becuase I heard this, are you suppose to use cruches?

I have always just hopped around on a sprain. Crutches are too uncomfortable to use.

crutches do help, and I just got off of them for a 3rd degree sprain. It helps reduce the pressure. I had it wrapped and in a gel cast for 4 weeks. Put it up higher than your waist when sitting and put ice on it.

It just depends on how bad the sprain is. If your doctor just told you to wrap it, then wrap it and take it easy. Don't do anything strenuous on it, and just take it easy. Best of luck.

Use the crutches! A bad sprain is worse than a break. Also elevate your ankle as much as possible. If you have to be up on your bad ankle, by all means use crutches.

If you sprain your ankle you may want to use crutches when you're walking long distances... but you need to move it so it can heal correctly
