Hmm, head butted by a dog, well that's a new one. But if you have a large dog with a large head, and the speed at the impact, it could possibly happen. My suggestion is to try and stay awake if possible for a time, and if your head is still hurting, then probably take some tylenol, and obtain a wonderful nights rest.

depends how difficult you were hit. id adivse rest and paracetamol or another painkiller. if in the night youre ill and disoriented, or the next day, id say go to hospital just in case. but dont drive yourself, for obvious reasons.

Um, you'll know you've had a concussion when you have one, lol.

You'll know because you won't bear in mind anything! That is when you have a concussion.

I bear in mind when my roommate had a concussion from football, he packed all my dirty clothes for home, lol. I told him to have it cleaned when he got back.

Any form of head injury can be potentially life jeopardizing even if it appears to be minor. You should observe a doctor ASAP.

I believe that you could get a concussion from any head trauma. Did your dog really hit you that hard? I looked on MayoClinic.com and here are the symptoms of a consussion:

    Headache

    Dizziness

    Ringing in the ears

    Nausea or vomiting

    Slurred speech

the simple answer is YES, you could get concussion from anything that suddenly knocks or jars the head, therefore resulting in "brain shake".

Your Brain is free to move a little inside your skull and concussion springs up when the meninges are not sufficiently absorbant to soak up the disturbance caused by whatever object comes into contact with it.

You do not need to be unconcious to have a concussion. the the bulk important thing with a concussion is to not sleep all the way via the night. If you have someone there with you have them wake you up every 3-4 hours during the night, if not set the alarm and make sure you're fully awake before you shut it off. It wouldn't hurt to put some ice on your head for no more than 20 min at a time every hour till you go to bed.

    Get well

No you do not have to be knocked out to have a concussing. It's highly unlikely that you do have one though. Watch yourself for feel nauseated and if you beginning throwing up then you may want to call a dr. or a friend to take you to the hospital. Make certainly that your pupils are equal and reactive (take a flash light and be looking in a mirror and shine the light in them and your pupils should obtain small).
