Well....I have been consuming really bad ...just once or twice a day but either subways or other rapid food burgers...etc. I am feeling this pain in my right back side right below my shoulder....it felt like a muscle spasm or still feels like it...sometimes when I move ....is it air from not consuming till lunch time or late in the evening and skipping meals or is it something else like a heart attack....no chest pain, no sweating...just the pain in the back of my right shoulder......Also, a question for my mom...sorry...well she took her blood sugar today and it was 220+ maybe 260 ....it is always around 100+ but less than 200 ....does she have diabetes? She just got 2 shots from the doctor today for pain...could those have hightened her sugar readings? She doesn't have diabetes but we all just check sugar readings...cause my grandma does. So what's my diagnosis? What should I do? What is it? Ha ha sorry but I'm just freaking out. I took 2 aspirins for the pain.

I don't have any chest pains and I can breathe normally or without pain....no sweating no numbness in arms....maybe some pain in arms but it can be from carrying around backpack all day today....and from work. ....I hate to say this but sometimes I go to the ER cause I think it's a heart attack and it's just heart burn but this time it's not pain in chest it's pain behind my right breast or lower shoulder. I don't want another false alarm if you know what I mean....I think the doctor thinks I'm crazy cause my dad had a heart attack ...and now I'm thinking I'm having one ...but the pain is real.

Oh, I forgot I asked the doctor once to check my cholesterol and he didn't want to...said there was no need...but I am a little overweight, 20 yrs old, and am in the college in-between-classes- junk-food stage....eat healthy when I can..

Usually symptoms of a heart attack are: pain in your shoulder blade, jaw, pressure on your chest, pain in your left arm, etc... about your mom, I really don't know. By the way, if you can't touch the area where you think it's a "muscle spasm/heart attack", then tell someone to touch it to observe if it hurts, cause if it does it's just your muscle and not a symptom of heart attack.

I don't know about your pain... You really haven't given ample information for anybody to make a diagnosis. If you think you're having a heart attack then call an ambulance.

Your moms sugar went up because of the pain... It's quite common, but she should be checked for diabetes by her doctor, especially since it's in the family...

Some pain medications will raise blood glucose levels. Especially cortisone. Aspirins won't hurt you. Matter of fact they will aid people who are having a heart attack. 220 or 260 is too high for blood sugar, but unless it's that high on a regular basis it's not an emergency situation. Your mother should obtain an appt. with an Endocrinologist and observe what he/she says. You should quit that unwell diet or you might have a heart attack. I don't know what your pain is, but you should make a Dr. appt. and have a complete physical. Tell the Dr. your symtoms and don't delay.

    Good luck to you.

Go to the doctor about your shoulder pain. There could be numerous causes for this. Your mom could be borderline diabetic or even have type 2 diabetes. Need more numbers. Pain and injury can cause blood sugar levels to spike. There have been cases where non diabetics have been badly injured in a car wreck or similar trauma and had their blood sugar levels exceed 2000 while at our local hospital. Regardless, you should both observe a doctor and quit asking for diagnosis on YA.
