I'm Bianca and I am 11 years old. I am now suffering from my nail ingrown. It is day 3 of my ingrown. And As the time pass by, it now hurts! Can you give me tips. Is it ok to wear socks and shoes? Is it ok to be wet? Is it ok to wash them or eradicate some black thing in my nail or anything using cotton?

I bite my foot nail (Please don't laugh!), is it one of the causes that is why I have an ingrown right now?

Please give me your best answer! I really need your help!

    Thank You!

Yes biting or clipping y our nails wrong can cause an ingrown nail. You may need to observe a doctor to have them eradicate it for you. You can go to your common family doctor for this. I would try to wear shoes, like flip flops that won't put any pressure on the ingrown nail. wonderful luck !

You need to tell your parents or the adults that care for you so that they can take you to the doctor and have your toe nail looked at. Infection can be a serious problem and you need to have it taken care of pretty quickly.

    Hi Bianca,

First of all, you should be soaking your toe in warm water about 4 periods a day this will soften the nail and surrounding skin and keep the area from getting so painful as well as keeping it clean. If your ingrown nail is pretty superficial then you could probably eradicate it after a wonderful soaking because the nail would be soft and cause less pain. In order to prevent ingrown nails, clip your toenails and file them straight across.

First off try to quit biting your nails, i know it would be tuff but try. Then you need to tell your parents and tell them about it so they can take you to the doctor and obtain the problem fixed.. Good luck and best wishes! ps i used to the samething and i have learned not to pick my nails.. Good luck
