Mine has been broken for a day and I've taped it to the second smallest toe.

You did right! Just be certainly the tape isn't too tight. It heals in 4-6 weeks.

at the risk of sounding cliched, you should observe a doctor.

I agree with phantoms, but I think its only like 2-3 weeks...I broke my fingers and they healed in no time.

You did the right thing. Unless it's smashed, taping it to the next one is the right thing. Normally it heals in 4 to 6 weeks. I have always recommended cushioning with a piece of cotton between the toes.

Well, in my experience, my little toe took about 4 weeks. Don't tape it to tight and try to wear sandals or comfortable shoes that don't put pressure on your toe. Happy healing!!!

Probably about 4-6 weeks. I just returned from the ER. I broke it yesterday and wasn't going to go to the doctor, but on the internet it said that if a bone is misaligned, you can have trouble later. My was fine. They taped it, gave me a "surgical shoe" and crutches and sent me home. That should be about $300!
