    The poor lad. That's a nasty dose. I use ice, but they have always been outside my mouth. Cold sores are a virus, and garlic is antiviral. He could boil some up with our without other veg, but don't skimp on the garlic. Use plenty. He could drink the cooking water (let it cool - his mouth is sore ample as it is) and eat the veg. Bonjela (used for infants with teething problems) will ease the pain. I hope he feels better soon
