I am hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and I really don't know what will be good for me to eat for breakfast. I have to sit in class for 4 hours after breakfast so I need something substantial that doesn't have many of sugar in it and has many of protein. I usually eat cereal, yogurt, and toast, but this isn't tiding me over, I beginning to feel ill in about the 4th hour of class.

The best thing to eat is two candybars, sugar cookies, and a jolt cola. You could also take some Stacker diet pills.

I would definetly go with egg whites. Egg white omlette with veggies of your choice, some whole wheat bread, and you're good to go. Good luck!

(And you people are really sick, telling this woman to eat sugary foods. Grow up.)

Peanut butter on a whole wheat English muffin or whole wheat toast really works for me...it is the only thing that sticks with me in the morning. Meat may also stick with you...make a sandwich for breakfast instead of consuming cereal.

    In two words. Complex carbs.

Oatmeal or grits will be a better breakfast. It'll stay with you for hours. Eggs are also a wonderful choice with some peaches or other fruits on the side.

(I don't have diabetes but I know what stays with me)

If you lived close by I would make you a delicious spinach omelet with cheese. That would absolutely hold you over with a glass of juice and some fresh fruit on the side.

There are lots of dissimilar theories about this.

Modern man has only really started consuming food much before 10am because of the Industrial Revolution.

Medical conditions such as insulin related troubles mean that some people need a dissimilar diet, and do need a more regular controlled rate of release of energy.

You sound like you do need less simple High GI carbs like sugar (which most advertisement 'breakfast foods' contain in large amounts) and more Low GI (complex carbs) like oatmeal (minimum sugar!).

Some protein is also helpful as it too takes longer to digest. Another almighty help for breakfast is eggs - high protein. Bacon and eggs used to be a wonderful Aussie standby before 'the anti-fat people' struck, and The Evil Arches persuaded people to grab 'brekkie' on the run.

If you find you're running down before a common lunch time, you can consider trying some things such as those 'oatmeal bars' - but advertisement ones have lots of sugar - you could make your own - at 10am or so (a common 'morning tea break' time as is the standard in Australia).

If you're in a class near that time, confer your teacher/tutor and explain the problem. Say you wish no disrespect, but you seem to need some dietary adjustment during certain times. You could take it higher if you obtain no assistance.

BTW, NO class should go for 4 hours straight - even common geniuses like me will fade and attain little near the end. 2 hours then a short break (when you can snack) then another 2 hours is better for learning anyway.

Some people say the fluid from coconuts - called 'coconut water' is reputed to assist a lot things, including insulin related troubles - it contains fats and enzymes which may help digestion and aid control sugar release.

I would say you should have some meat. Preparations of lentil would also be good. And drink many of water every once in a while.

Biscuit and gravy? Protein drink with fruit, put in a container @ 4th hr. drink it. Protein from a wonderful health food store. Also carry your protein bars with you. eat on the run.

hi. it's always ood to have marie biscuites and you said that you feel like hungry during 4th hour try a fresh juice which is quite helpful you could have omeletes in the beakfast with salads and furites and bear in mind you will have some relieft. you have to have some supplelemt like horlicks and bournviaa you could ahve it in hot water instead of milk base then you could control it. ok. canned furit juice is not useful as it's very sweet. try oranges and eat oranges (fresh furits together with banana half of minute size) together with cucumber salad. in your diet contribute cinnamon for falvouring. during night soak indian methi in water and eat it early in the morning which cleans your stomach. eat right and with your company. avoid sweets and use the buttermilk when you're hungry. it's my experience.

Eggs, peanut butter, or cheese do it for me. Bring an energy bar to class that's high in protein. If the teacher has a problem with food in class, just tell him/her of your medical condition ahead of time (privately if you're sensitive about it...although it's nothing to be ashamed of).
