I heard that olive oil is very effective.

I also read that EDTA can clear the arteries too:

    http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=en&q=ethylenediaminetetraacetic+acid

EDTA is an amino acid that sticks to iron and calcium in the body, so after you eat lots of EDTA your body expels these chemicals. Is this really harmless to eat? I mean if it really dissolves calcium, then doesn't it weaken the bones as well? This website says many of wonderful things about EDTA:

You are right about the EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid -- usually the disodium salt) will chelate with metals in the body (chelate means bind with)

BUT the technique the bones are made - the amount of leaching out of the Calcium and Magnesium will be low as compared to getting rid of the plaque in the arteries

A number of doctors use intervenous EDTA to eradicate plaque from arteries and they charge around $100 a treatment and a full group of treatments might take various months

Another technique to eradicate the bad cholesterol from the arteries is with a special combination of vitamines - you could do a search for "Bypass the Bypass" by Dr David Rowland - I take his vitamines and my arteries are basically clean

Olive oil will NOT clear the arteries but is great AFTER they are cleaned out as they will aid the cholesterol from sticking to the walls of the arteries again

Olive oil has many of health advantages - but cleaning arteries is not one of them

In medicine, some laboratory studies suggest that EDTA chelation MAY prevent colletion of platelets (plaque) on the walls of the blood vessels. These thoughts are not proven yet and are only THEORETICAL. None of the theories of EDTA chelation have been well tested in scientific studies.

Although it's not FDA approved to treat Coronary Heart Disease some physicians and alternative medical practioners advocate EDTA chelation as a technique to treat this disorder.

This should be administered by a trained professional. The the bulk common side effects are listed as hypotension (a drop in blood pressure), hypocalcemia (abnormally low calcium levels in the blood), headache, nausea, vomiting, and bone marrow depression. Injuries to the kidneys have been reported with EDTA chelation but this is rare.

Personally, I would stick with the olive oil or you could use 1,000mg everyday of Borage Oil capsules which I personally take together with fish oil. Do a web search on "benefits of borage oil" and read up on this. It can be taken together with fish oil and/or olive oil. This will be a much safer alternative. Another excellent supplement is Red Yeast Rice which you could purchase at Wal-mart or any vitamin shop. Web search "benefits of red yeast rice" to read the information.

Other benefical supplements are Apple Pectin, it lowers cholesteral by binding fats and heavy metals, Calcium to prevent hpyocalcemia, Chromium Picolinate 400-600mg everyday - lowers cholesterol levels and improves HDL to LDL ratio, Fiber helps lower cholesterol (take separately from other supplements and medication), Kyolic Garlic - lowers cholesteral and blood pressure, Vit. B complex, Vitamin B3 (Niacin) do not take more than 300mg everyday and do not use the sustained release fomula.

My personal story was that my cholesterol tested so high my doctor didn't want me to leave without agreeing to take his prescription medication. I refused and told him I will be back in 6 weeks to retest. I researched the supplements I required and basically changed my diet to about 80% raw food. The advantages were amazing weight loss and when I retested my cholesterol levels 6 weeks later it was Perfect! My doctor was amazed! I told him I didn't need his liver detrimental medicine! If you put you mind to it you could do it. I would suggest trying to obtain the book "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" second edition, by James F. Balch, M.D. I use this book for everything! You might be able to find it on Ebay.

Good luck and I hope this helps explain things for you!
