Where do you go when the emotional pain of your own life and that of others is just too much of a burden for you?

When the pain becomes too much for yourself to handle on your own, you MUST resort to outside sources for help. It may be embarrassing, yes, but the long-term outcomes are worth it.
This does not make you a whimp or weak. You've perhaps overcame problems, maybe now it's getting to the point where you don't have experience or the motivation on your own. I can honestly say that I know how you feel. I do have personal experience and have overcome letting other people's pain and troubles bother me. Turn to someone else, such as a therapist, and work out your problems. Good luck, now pick up a phone book! You WILL feel better, I know personally. |

Aw, I feel for you. I'm going via this exact same thing, it gets tough.
You just have to observe a psychologist or a therapist. It can be difficult to talk to someone you don't really know but they are trained to make you feel better. |

I've wondered about this too. It's said that God won't give you more than you could handle...so I prize ..where is it coming from??? I got too much on me and I became helpless...that's when the "buzzards" attacked. Did you ever observe a dog in pain and helpless...and other dogs come and attack him/her? People will do that too. Be careful you don't let this happen to you. I take a low dose of risperdal now...it helps with the emotional pain. I try to obtain my mind involved in stories on tv etc (and computer)..just anything to obtain my mind off it. You need somebody to share the burden....and to "hold you till you cry". Find a wonderful church where you could get some emotional support. Good Luck.

I go to my sisters, to my husband , to the Goddess Mother Earth, and to myself in quiet meditation, to long walks, to allowing myself to feel whatever I am feeling, anger, grief, whatever it is, validating them as legitimate emotions, and reminding myself that these will not last forever, and I will feel happy again. Like Lady Luna, moods alteration and swing to and fro, so I do noto despair that it's forever.

Ms Crone, I go into a bot of deep meditation and try to figure out just exactly WHY I have surendered MY power to fall under the affect of OUTSIDE conditions. I seek out Goddess's aid to aid me to indentify those areas of my life that have permitted me to open up those holes in my spirit that DO enable such negativity to burrow into my psyche and wrok from within to Weaken my defenses and my resistence to those outside influences.
Then I ask her to aid me to find methods to seal off those "openings" via concrete action on MY part. do I have to shut down and withdraw for a time? Do I have to be less accessible to those who are drining my energy? Do I have to seek out new friends who can teach me how to adjust my OWN outlook on things to better able tocope with the world? This is what I'm talking about. To do this you need to find some YOU time, away from distractions. Time where you could sit down and objectively think about your life as though you were NOT you. Look at yourself as others will observe you. HOw are YOU making yourself "available" to the outside set of events in such a technique that it's draining you of your energy, your emotion, your OWN capability to withstand pressure and difficulty. Sometimes, we need to ask someone who is trusted and that you're confident in to aid illuminate those things about yourself that you find difficult to observe on your own. sometimes even, we can seek out professional aid to aid us sort out our weaknesses and probloms and catagorize and prioritize them so that we can tackle them in an orderly fashion. Myself, I prefer to find MY special place in Nature and go and meditate. It's an ancient oak tree that was hit by lightning a few years ago and is still surviving and thriving in spinte of it's injuries. It gives me the strength to actually look at my OWN weaknesses and helps ME to adress them in an orderly manner. Maybe you have such a place. I certainly hope so because we ALL need a place like that in our lives, even if it's just a quiet corner of a park. BB, Raji the Green Witch |
