I need to know why I'm so heavy and the cramps are killing me. I'm on blood thinners and this is my 1st period in over a year.

I was on the pill for yr to stop them.

Are you still on the Pill? If you're on blood thinners, you may need to obtain some blood work to observe if your levels are too high. That could cause the bleeding even without the hormonal component. Otherwise/ either technique you should observe your Dr. Sometimes just a shot will stop the bleeding and the cramping. Doesn't sound like anything you should wait & observe on--go observe a Dr.

Your in pain because this is the first one in over a year. That's not normal, why would you stop your period for a year?

The blood thinners might have something to do with the heavy flow of your period. Birth control doesn't stop your period, just lengthens the time between periods. Since this is your first time in a year, your body is perhaps playing catch up. If I were you, I would buy a nice hot water pad, put my feet up, and take some midol. And don't forget you could always talk to your doctor or gynecologist if you're still concerned.
