If men went bald from the neck up, they could cover it with the hair on top, and it wouldnt look so bad, but instead balding springs up from the top down......whats up with that?
Is it caused by the sun? Is it caused by combing? |

A large portion of it's caused by men wearing hats. If their hat is too restrictive, it cuts off the flow of blood to the skin because all the blood vessels are on the outside of the skull. Even if the hat isn't too restrictive, it still restricts bloodflow and it will take longer for male pattern baldness to express up. When the blood flow is cut off or restricted, the hair follicles don't receive all the oxygen and energy they need and slowly die off. Because the blood has to flow the furthest to the top of the head then the rest of the head, that part of the head goes bald first. When baseball caps aren't an issue, the whole head tends to lose hair slowly and thins out.

Have you ever observed that men that wear baseball caps all the time when they are young, usually beginning going bald when they hit the age of 30?
I think this is because the hats cover up the pores of the skin on the scalp and prevent air from getting to the scalp which over a long period of time can lead to baldness, or the dying of the hair roots. This is only my opinion, though! When I did realize this might be the source for early baldness, I quit wearing any covering on top of my head, and have permitted the fresh air to blow via my hair, now I am in my fifty's and I still have a full head of soft hair on top of my dome! Thank you, |

its caused by genetics.. just the technique it is. the hair on the top is programmed differently, thats why transplants from the lower part of the head don't fall out once they are attached.

It has something to do with your genetics, nothing to do with wearing or not wearing a hat. I myself am 51 and have had two main brain surgeries(frontal lobe are) and the hair has come back each time. they removed a part of my scalp and then replaced it. My grandfather was in his late 60's wore a hat all his life and when he passed he still had a full head of hair and it was for the the bulk part black. My dad was 73 and when he passed he also still had a full head and for the the bulk part still just as black(temples were going gray)I take after my mother have light colored hair and I'm turning gray but don't figure. I put in 20 yrs service, and have had the surgeris. Still a full head. My brother is 52 and still a full head. He also done a hitch in the Marines like me. Now my dad's brother on the other hand barely wore a hat unlike the rest of us and he was going bald also his son who is a year younger than me and is as bald as you could get. he does not wear a hat that often. So it goes to what ever your family gens are.
I heard a joke one time. It goes if a man is bald in the front he is a thinker, if it's bald in back then he is a wonderful lover, so if he is bald from front to rear then he thinks he is a wonderful lover. Now I have always had a full head of hair and no complaints in that field. |
