I've always wondered why people close their eyes when they sneeze. It's kind of weird and I really don't know why. Can someone tell me why they close their eyes when they sneeze?

It's physically unachievable to sneeze and keep them open, I've tried.

To keep your eyeballs from being forced out by the pressure of the sneeze. It's unachievable to sneeze with your eyes open.
