A disease is any abnormal condition of the body or mind that causes discomfort, dysfunction, or distress to the person affected or those in contact with the person. Is heart disease not an abnormal condition?

It is a disease - what do you think it's a fork lift truck?
Are you misunderstanding the meaning of the word and believing that it has something to do with contagiousness? |

it depends exactly what you're referring to because there are some diseases of the heart muscle - same as in every other organ. Often disease is another term for dis - ease [dis - wrong/not, ease - referring to something that is 'at ease']. Hope this helps.

Ah - you do not own a dictionary then!!!
Disease - Any impairment of common physiological function affecting an organism. Thus whilst disease is often caused by infection it's the impairment of the organ which is the disease not the infection!!! So you have simply made an error in your understanding of what a disease actually is!! |
